SASW Team Weekly Roundup

Find out what the team in Scotland have been doing on behalf of members this week

We contributed to an STV News story about the 30-year anniversary of Orkney.  Find Alison's statement, here.

We finalised plans for our World Social Work Week events, including our challenging racism in social work roundtable. You can find out more about what we have planned, here.

The Steering Group for the development of Near Me, met and Alison will be discussing options with IRISS and others for an event for SASW members to share the experiences of the pathfinders sites (a mix of social work and social care services across children's adults' and justice) considering the implications for social work.

Sarah attended the CPG for Men’s Violence Against Women and Girls which included thematic sessions from Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service, and from organisations supporting survivors, looking at impact of lockdown on court processes.

With technical support from Lisa, Sarah facilitated the 3rd live session of Safe & Together Blended Core Training.

We attended the Rural Social Work Webinar on Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence in Rural Settings, exploring factors to do with rurality which impact on abuse and potential to get help. Save the date for next webinar on 18th March, booking link to be published shortly.
