In this blog, I wish to focus not on the appointment process, or the chair himself - rather, on the hundreds of thousands of care experienced people this review will impact, many of whom will remain forever anonymous and unknown to us.
Nick Lovell, member of the BASW UK Heritage Steering Group and BASW Cymru, provides a personal reflection on how social work has been a fundamental part of his life and own heritage.
Russell Hogarth, who sits on the BASW at 50 years steering group, shares his own personal experiences of 'lockdowns' and contrasts them with the experience of Covid-19 restrictions
Ruth Allen CEO BASW reflects on the year ahead: We need to be ready and strong - not only to respond, but to shape and create the narrative and the vision for now and tomorrow.
Not quite a joint blog post this time, but it was inspired by conversations I have been having with social care consultant and BASW member, Colin Slasberg. These linked with the activities of the Austerity Action Group, a talk I heard given by Professor Jonathan Dickens about social worker, Clement Attlee, and something I said in a recent interview with Professional Social Work editor, Shahid Naqvi. So I might be the only one hitting the keyboard here, but a lot of people have influenced this post. Including a Labour politician who has sadly recently passed away.
