For International Women's Day and as part of BASW’s campaign against poverty, we're raising awareness of the impact of poverty on women and calling for change.

The UK Government has introduced the ‘Illegal Migration Bill’ to Parliament which, if passed, would create a scheme whereby anyone arriving “illegally” in the UK will be removed to their home country or a safe third country.

The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) is launching an award scheme to recognise high quality journalism featuring social work in the mainstream media.

BASW UK will be hosting an event in the UK Parliament next month to share our anti-poverty campaign with politicians and the wider anti-poverty campaigning sector.

Photo ID will now be required to vote in some elections across the UK.
